Summary
This introduction to farm insurance training workshop is suitable for those new to farm insurance or those who have dealt with it for a year or two and are seeking to refresh their knowledge.
The workshop will include an introduction to the major covers available to farmers, the information required to assess the risks and the basis of rating.
Our introduction to farm insurance training workshop assumes that the delegates are familiar with the general principles of insurance

- Property Damage
- Business Interruption

- Crop Damage, e.g. Hail
- Agricultural Motor insurance
- Typical farm insurance policy conditions and exclusions
- The special condition of average applicable to farmers
- Underwriting – the information required and the basis of rating
Learning Objectives
- List the insurances required by farmers in order to comply with statutory requirements
- List the main insurable property damage and business interruption perils and describe how their effects on farmers may vary
- List the main forms of liability insurance and describe how they can protect farmers
- Outline the main policy cover, conditions and exclusions of typical Farm insurance policies covering property damage, business interruption and livestock risks
- Describe the type of information required to obtain farm insurance quotations and detail the basis of rating for typical risks
- Outline the main motor insurance cover options available to the agricultural industry, including off road use and the tool of trade third party risk legislation and/or regulations requiring compulsory insurance
